Who are Fight for Sight?
Fight for Sight is the UK’s leading eye research charity. Their aim is to stop sight loss. They fund pioneering research to understand what causes different eye diseases and conditions and find ways of treating them.
There are currently over 2 million people living with sight loss in the UK and every day hundreds of people start to lose their sight. Fight for Sight know research is the answer to prevent sight loss. Their aim is to build on the progress that has already been made to bring about the next breakthrough using pioneering research.
They currently have 8 million invested in over 160 research projects at 49 different universities and hospitals across the UK.
Their research covers both common and rare eye diseases and conditions. These include age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, inherited eye diseases, and those linked to other conditions such as stroke and diabetes.
