Can you explain some of the acronyms used in relation to my child with vision impairment's education?
The acronyms used in special education can become confusing, some of the most often used are:
CYP - Child and Young Person
EHCP - Education Health Care Plan
KS - Key Stage
LA - Local Authority
LSA - Learning Support Assessment
QTVI - Qualified Teacher of Children with Vision Impairment
SEN - Special Educational Need
SENCO - Special Education Needs Co-ordinator
SEND - Special Educational Needs and Disability
