Can I open an exam paper early and make changes to suit a student with a vision impairment?
Yes this is possible, but there are restrictions and you will need to make an application to the appropriate body. The key principle is that any changes you make should only be to the presentation of a paper, not its actual content. Otherwise there is a danger that you might change what is being assessed.
Further information on how to apply for early opening for SATs and public exams can be found on RNIB's Access to exams and tests webpage.
