Can I get discounted rail travel?
England and Wales
The Disabled Persons Railcard offers a range of discounts on advance, off-peak and anytime train fares. It provides one third off adult rail fares on the National Rail network in Great Britain with no time restrictions. If you're travelling with another adult, they will also get the same discount on their fare. Scotland
The Scottish National Blind Persons’ Scheme is also delivered on the National Entitlement Card (NEC). This is a voluntary arrangement between local councils, COSLA and participating transport operators and provides free rail and ferry travel throughout Scotland. Northern Ireland
You can get a SmartPass that entitles you to half-priced or even free travel on nearly all scheduled bus and rail services. You can also get a Disabled Persons Railcard for travelling in Great Britain. If you register your sight loss, you should be given the form automatically. If not, contact your Health and Social Services Trust.
