Can I get any discounts when visiting the cinema because of my sight loss?
You won't be able to get a discount for your own ticket to the cinema, but you can get a free ticket for anyone accompanying you at participating cinemas, if you qualify for a Cinema Exhibitor's Association (CEA) card.
To qualify for the card you will need to prove that you receive one of the following benefits:
- Disability Living Allowance
- Personal Independence Payment
- Attendance Allowance
- Armed Forces Independence Payment
- are registered as either blind (severely sight impaired) or partially sighted (sight impaired)
Children aged 8 or over and adults of any age can apply for the card. The card costs £6 and needs to be renewed every year.
For more information on how to apply and which cinemas take part in the scheme, visit the CEA website or contact them direct on 01244 526 016 or email[email protected].
