How do I navigate a DAISY book or magazine?
DAISY players have up to six in-built navigation levels for moving between content. Navigation levels are in a sequential structure to help you navigate through more complex books or magazines such as reference books and TV listings.
Level 1 navigates between top level options. For example:
- in TV Listings magazine it navigates to the days of the week
- in the Bible it navigates to the specific books eg Judges
- in New Books magazine it navigates to the main book categories eg braille books, talking books
Level 2 navigates to chapter or sections. For example:
- in TV Listings magazine it navigates to the channels
- in the Bible it navigates to specific chapters within that book
- in New Books magazine it navigates to sections within each book category
Level 3 navigates to specific headings within a chapter or section. For example:
- in TV Listings magazine it navigates to the time of the day
- in the Bible it navigates to specific verses
- in New Books magazine it navigates to each book available
You must select an option in level 1 before you can move onto level 2 options and so forth.
